Inspired by ambitious national and global targets, since 2019 ICLEI Indonesia and the Government of West Nusa Tenggara (WNT) have affirmed their commitment to strengthen cooperation in achieving Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) and accelerating the transition to renewable energy through the 100% Renewables Cities and Regions Roadmap (100% RE) Project. The 100%RE Project provides support to local and regional governments to promote progress towards 100% renewable energy strategies with increased awareness and stakeholder participation in Indonesia, Kenya and Argentina.
Karang Taliwang Public Health Center is set to undergo a remarkable energy transformation since it is a pilot for the development of financeable PV projects. A thorough Feasibility Study conducted by ICENERGY found that a 41.8 kWp rooftop solar PV system, equipped with a 288-kWh storage battery, will harness solar irradiation to generate clean and sustainable electrical energy for 24 hours for the Public Health Center. This includes powering the Emergency Room at the Public Health Center. This design would reduce reliance on conventional grid power, which is predominantly generated from fossil fuel power plants. In compliance with technical, environmental, and legal regulations, the energy produced will be utilized for self-consumption of Karang Taliwang Public Health Center.
